Leora Smith

English Instructional Leader at Milken Community School

Leora Smith is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching various subjects and grade levels. Currently serving as the English Instructional Leader and Humanities Teacher at Milken Community School since February 2016, Leora previously taught 7th and 8th grade history on a temporary contract at Gindi Maimonides Academy. From September 2009 to June 2015, Leora was affiliated with the York Region District School Board, instructing subjects such as English, Dramatic Arts, and French, while also taking on mentorship roles within drama and French clubs. Additional teaching roles include positions at Bayview Glen and Vancouver Talmud Torah, where Leora developed innovative programs in French and dramatic arts. Leora holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from American Jewish University, a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from McGill University.
