Rebecca Prather is an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist with a strong background in inclusion practices for students with disabilities and specialized training in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Learning Disabilities, and Expressive Arts Therapy. Currently, at Mill Valley School District since August 2018, Rebecca applies expertise in creating supportive learning environments. Previous roles include serving as a Teaching Faculty Integrated Learning Specialist Program at Alameda County Office of Education from June 2014 to June 2020, focusing on arts-based learning to foster critical thinking and emotional development. Rebecca also worked as a Speech Language Pathologist at Larkspur Corte Madera School District and Marin County Office of Education. Academically, Rebecca holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration, a Master of Science in Communicative Disorders, and a Master of Arts in Women and Gender Studies, all obtained from San Francisco State University, along with an undergraduate degree from UC Santa Barbara.

The Mill Valley School District is located 8 miles north of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County, California. The district has 5 elementary schools and 1 middle school with an enrollment of approximately 3,250 students in grades K through 8. Four of the schools are located within the City of Mill Valley, while two are located in the adjacent unincorporated areas of Strawberry Point and Tamalpais Valley. The District also includes the unincorporated communities of Alto, Almonte, Homestead Valley, and Muir Beach. The community has been rated as one of the top 20 best small towns in America by Smithsonian magazine.
