Paul D. Cleary

Paul D. Cleary is the Anna M.R. Lauder Professor of Public Health and former dean of the Yale School of Public Health, a member of the Institute of Medicine, and a Distinguished Fellow of AcademyHealth. Dr. Cleary is a former editorial director of the Milbank Memorial Fund and past editor of The Milbank Quarterly (1992-2000). In 2002, he received the Distinguished Investigator Award from the Academy for Health Services Research and Health Policy (now AcademyHealth). Dr. Cleary is principal investigator (PI) of one of two Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems studies funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to develop survey protocols for collecting and reporting information from consumers regarding their health care. He earned MS and PhD degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
