Arif Mamun serves as the Managing Director for Economic Analysis in the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s Department of Policy and Evaluation. In that capacity, he guides and manages MCC’s economic analysis team that supports partner countries to identify binding constraints to economic growth and examines their underlying causes as well as conducts cost-benefit analysis and performs beneficiary analysis for MCC compacts and threshold programs.
Mr. Mamun is an economist with 20 years of experience in data, evidence, and research on social investments that informed strategic policy decisions and program implementation in the U.S., Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining MCC, he was an Associate Director of International Research at Mathematica, where he served in leadership roles for conducting research and evaluation across a diverse set of sectors.
Mr. Mamun holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Washington and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Dhaka.
