Wendy Wrosch Richards

Principal & Pro Bono Counsel at Miller Canfield

Wendy Wrosch Richards began their career in 2002 as an Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. In 2004, they joined Miller Canfield as a Senior Attorney. In 2013, they moved to Michigan Community Resources where they served as Vice President of Operations and General Counsel, as well as Director of Legal and Policy Programs. In 2016, they returned to Miller Canfield as Principal & Pro Bono Counsel. In this role, they lead Miller Canfield's pro bono efforts firm-wide, which annually provides more than 8,000 hours of legal services to those who cannot afford legal representation. Wendy has also assisted in and led teams involving high-impact immigration litigation matters, civil rights class actions, community development projects, and entrepreneurship opportunities for persons living in disadvantaged communities. Her highlights include overseeing the pro bono program, doubling the number of pro bono hours donated by the firm, serving as Special Counsel in the Executive Office of the Governor, State of Michigan, establishing the Detroit COVID-19 Small Business Clinic, leading a team of 14 law firms on a national project, coordinating with the Michigan Department of State, Attorney General’s Office, and nonprofits, and obtaining an injunction in a national class action.

Wendy Wrosch Richards attended GP South HS from 1990 to 1994. Wendy then went on to the University of Michigan, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from 1994 to 1997. Lastly, they attended the University of Virginia School of Law from 1998 to 2002 and obtained their JD.
