Miller Dunwiddie
Melissa Christenson Ekman is an experienced architect and historic preservation specialist with a background in both public service and private practice. Currently serving as a member of the Historic Resources Advisory Committee for the Minnesota Historical Society, Melissa provides policy and grant-making guidance related to historic and cultural programs. As an Associate Architect at Miller Dunwiddie since June 2005, expertise includes the preservation, restoration, and stabilization of historical structures. Previous leadership roles include Board Member and Chair of the Special Events Planning Committee for the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota and Chair of the Minnesota Design Team. Melissa began their career as an Intern Architect at CH2M HILL and KM Development. Academic credentials include a BA in Architecture and Art History from the University of Minnesota and a Master's in Architecture with a focus on Historic Preservation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
