Derek Torrey

Derek Torrey has extensive work experience in various roles related to technology strategy, digital transformation, and consulting. Derek is currently the VP of Enterprise Architecture at MillerKnoll since 2022. Before that, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Salt Flats from 2021 to 2022, where they focused on leading technology strategy and digital transformation programs for key Retail and CPG clients. Prior to that, they were a Marketing Technology Consultant at TorreyCC Consulting and Coaching from 2015 to 2021, where they led digital transformations in various industries such as CPG, Retail, Publishing, and Manufacturing. Derek also served as a Senior Martech Consultant at icp from 2019 to 2020, leading Martech optimization projects for creative operations. Additionally, Derek has worked at Avalon Consulting, LLC as a Senior Consultant from 2015 to 2019, where they led client projects in Big Data, Analytics, and Enterprise Search solutions. Derek also held positions at SGK as a Vice President of Production Technology from 2014 to 2015 and as a Global Retail Technology Director from 2008 to 2014. Furthermore, they worked at Connect3 Systems as a Director of Cross-Channel Publishing in 2008 and at Ambrosi as a Director of IT Solutions and Senior Industry Analyst from 2005 to 2007. Lastly, Derek was the VP of Product Management at Seven Worldwide from 2000 to 2005, where they managed the development of a retail marketing automation system.

Derek Torrey attended Rochester Institute of Technology from 1991 to 1994, where they received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. During their time at the university, they focused their studies on the School of Photographic Arts and Science and pursued graduate studies in Electronic Publishing.
