Kate Roethler

CMF Designer at MillerKnoll

Kate Roethler has a diverse work experience in design and teaching roles. Kate started their career as a Designer at HexNest in 2019 and then worked as an Industrial Design Intern at Elkay Manufacturing and University of Illinois Research Park in 2020. Kate also worked as a Design Researcher at miaPURE, a National Science Foundation funded project, during the same year. In 2021, they joined Spectrum Brands, Inc as a CMF Designer and Forecasting Lead, where they managed the design team in forecasting and received notable awards for their work. Kate also served as a Teaching Assistant at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they held various roles such as 3D Fabrication Lab Assistant and Ceramics Lab Assistant. Currently, they are working as a CMF Designer at MillerKnoll since 2023.

Kate Roethler obtained their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Industrial and Product Design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, they completed their Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Fine/Studio Arts at Illinois Central College from 2016 to 2018.
