Melissa McCarriagher Rid, Ncidq

Melissa McCarriagher, RID, NCIDQ has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Melissa currently holds the position of Design Manager | Workplace Experience at MillerKnoll, where they have been since 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as an Ancillary Design Consultant for the East region at the same company.

Before joining MillerKnoll, Melissa worked as a Professor at the Savannah College of Art and Design starting in 2020. Melissa contributed their expertise as an Adjunct Professor in the Interior Design Department at The Art Institutes from 2017 to 2018.

In 2020, Melissa served as an Ancillary Design & Application Specialist at Herman Miller, where they gained valuable experience in the field. Prior to that, they worked as an Interior Designer + Associate at Gensler from 2018 to 2020. At Gensler, they held multiple roles, including Interior Designer, RID, as well as a Designer.

Melissa's work experience also includes roles as an Interior Designer at CBRE | Heery from 2013 to 2015 and as a Freelance Exhibition & Environmental Graphic Designer at Avient Museum Services from 2010 to 2013.

Additionally, they served as a Graduate Mentor at the Savannah College of Art and Design from 2011 to 2012 and as an Intern Interior Designer at Peace Design from 2011 to 2012.

Melissa McCarriagher, RID, NCIDQ has a strong educational background in design. Melissa obtained their Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Interior Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from Alfred University between 2000 and 2004, specializing in Graphic Design, 3-D Studies, and Art History. Melissa also had the opportunity to study abroad at the Edinburgh College of Art in 2003, where they focused on Interior Design and Glass Art.

In addition to their impressive education, Melissa McCarriagher has obtained two significant certifications. Melissa is a Registered Interior Designer (RID), which they earned from the Georgia Secretary of State in April 2017.
