Rachel Wierda Ncidq

Rachel Wierda is an experienced interior designer with a strong background in furniture application design and strategic initiatives. Rachel currently works at MillerKnoll as a Strategic Opportunities Manager, where they collaborate with dealers to develop competitive solutions for strategic opportunities. Prior to this role, they worked at Intersect Studio as a Senior Interior Designer. At MillerKnoll, Rachel held positions of Application Designer - Technical Strategist and Global Generations Equity Team Lead & NA Co-Lead, where they focused on supporting the dealer network, advocating for generational diversity, and creating organizational structures for team collaboration. Earlier in their career, Rachel worked at Herman Miller as an Application Design Specialist and at Haworth as a Senior Designer and Bid and Design Consultant II, where they focused on private office design and project management. Rachel began their career at RT London Company as an Interior Designer, where they supported the sales team with space planning, renderings, material selection, and product development research. Rachel also gained experience as an Interior Design Intern at RT London Company before being offered a full-time position. Throughout their career, Rachel has demonstrated their expertise in design, strategy, and building strong relationships.

Rachel Wierda, NCIDQ, obtained their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Interior Design with a minor in Photography from Kendall College of Art and Design, where they attended from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed prerequisites for Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University at Grand Rapids Community College from 2007 to 2008. In addition to their educational background, they have obtained certifications such as Living Office Certified from Herman Miller in November 2019 and the NCIDQ Certification from the Council for Interior Design Qualification - CIDQ in December 2017.
