Ralph Farrer has extensive work experience in design engineering and project management. Ralph currently holds the position of Principal Design Engineer at MillerKnoll since September 2021. From 2012 to 2021, they worked at Herman Miller as a Senior Design Engineer, where they were responsible for mechanical design, concept development, prototyping, project management, and compliance with industry standards. Prior to that, Ralph owned Superavi Cycles from 2014 to 2015, establishing a supply chain and marketing the company's custom bicycle frames. Ralph also worked as a Design Engineer at Brightworks Ltd from 2008 to 2012, gaining experience in various industries. Before that, they worked as a Development Engineer at Herman Miller from 2006 to 2008, focusing on mechanical design, product development, and manufacturing processes. Ralph started their career at Evans Cycles as a Mechanic from 2000 to 2003.

Ralph Farrer pursued their education in the field of design engineering. Ralph obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Product Design & Mechanics from the University of Wales, Cardiff, where they studied from 2002 to 2005. Later, from 2005 to 2006, Ralph attended Middlesex University to earn their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Design Engineering. Additionally, Ralph has obtained certifications including Chartered Engineer (CEng) from the Institute of Engineering Designers in March 2017, and the IEng certification from IED.
