Matthew Turnquist M.D.

Matthew Turnquist, MD, is an experienced hospitalist currently serving at MaineHealth since September 2019, covering Med/Surg and ICU beds at Stephens Memorial Hospital, and providing excellent primary care to patients of all ages. In addition, Matthew is an attending physician at Millinocket Regional Hospital since June 2021, offering inpatient care, emergency department consultation, and wound care. Matthew also works per diem at Maine Medical Center in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine services while having previously completed a residency in Family Medicine. Matthew's healthcare career began as a paramedic with Rural/Metro Corporation, followed by a clinical lab instructor role for EMT-P candidates at Upstate Medical University. Matthew holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Upstate Medical University, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Cinema and Photography from Ithaca College and an NYS EMT-P credential.
