Brittney Sockwell

Brittney Sockwell currently serves as a Sensitive Crimes Victim/Witness Advocate at Milwaukee County, beginning in September 2023, where responsibilities include managing criminal caseloads and ensuring respectful treatment of victims during prosecutions. Prior experience includes working as a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Legal Advocate at Safe Passage, INC., where guidance was provided to survivors navigating the legal system. Brittney also held the position of Deputy Medical Examiner at Walworth County, WI, focusing on investigating causes of death and assisting with autopsies. Previous internships in the City of Rockford included roles as Senior Clerk, Human Service Intern, and general intern. Additional experience as a Book Seller at Barnes & Noble, Inc., and as a Cognitive Behavioral Technician at SSAIL Center complements Brittney's diverse background. Brittney earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology & Law Studies and Psychology from Marquette University in May 2022.
