Alex Ramer has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their current role as a Clinical Support Engineer at MIM Software Inc. Their previous experience includes working as an Entrepreneurial Lead at I-Corps @ Ohio, where they were involved in validating the market potential of a neurotechnology for individuals with spinal cord injuries.
Prior to that, Alex worked at Battelle as a CCDS Shift Lead and Safety Officer, leading teams in decontaminating and distributing N95 masks during the Covid-19 pandemic. They also conducted safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions for technicians, as well as troubleshooting and repairs to equipment.
Alex has also held positions such as a Lab Assistant at the University of Michigan Mechanical Engineering Department, a GHDI Design Ethnographer at KOMFO ANOKYE TEACHING HOSPITAL, a Biological Science Technician at Louis Stokes Cleveland Vamc, and a Researcher at the Peripheral Neural Engineering and Urodynamics Lab (pNEURO Lab).
Additionally, they have worked as a Biomedical Engineering Intern at Neurotechnology Innovations Translator (NIT) and as an Office Assistant at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Prior to entering the engineering field, Alex had their own business, Ramer Lawn Care and Snowblowing, where they served as an entrepreneur from 2010 to 2017.
Alex Ramer obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan College of Engineering from 2016 to 2021. Additionally, in 2018, Alex also completed a Bachelor's degree program in Biomedical Engineering from UNSW. Prior to that, Alex completed their high school education at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School from 2012 to 2016, earning a High School Diploma with Honors.
