Spencer Thompson is a Senior Engineer at Mimic since August 2023, focusing on cybersecurity measures against ransomware. Prior to this role, Spencer served as a Senior Software Engineer and Manager at DNAnexus from January 2021 to August 2023. Spencer's experience includes working as a Software Engineer at Cogniac Corporation, where responsibilities encompassed machine learning, computer vision research and development, backend engineering, and DevOps between June 2018 and January 2021. Earlier career highlights include serving as a Data Scientist part-time at Joy the App after an internship there, during which a model to compute the company's virality was developed. Additionally, Spencer gained research experience at the University of California, Santa Cruz's Jack Baskin School of Engineering as an Undergraduate Researcher. Spencer holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of California, Santa Cruz (2014 - 2018).
