Mindfulness in Museums brings mindfulness from the meditation room and clinical practice into museums: spaces for presence, care, and shared humanity. It translates evidence-based mindfulness into a professional arts-based intervention, grounded in both research and practice. In this way, Mindfulness in Museums contributes to a culture of care — both personal and collective.

Participants are invited to pause and notice habitual patterns of thinking, feeling, and reacting. With an attitude of openness, kindness, and curiosity, we create space for experiences of awe, gratitude, and compassion — qualities strongly linked to well-being. Over time, this helps us see the world more clearly and respond with greater wisdom. It supports self-regulation, inner balance, and resilience — essential foundations for mental health, in ourselves, our communities, and the world around us.

All programmes are tailored to the museum’s collection, context, and audience. Commissioned by and developed in collaboration with museums, MiM has created programmes for a wide range of audiences, including the general museum public, young adults and students, caregivers, and healthcare professionals such as physicians, medical specialists, and medical students.  The MiM methodology is evidence-based, stress-, neuro-, and trauma-informed. All programmes are delivered by qualified mindfulness teachers, trained at recognised institutions.
