Ellen Osborne Ray is an experienced leader in the nonprofit sector, currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of The Still Water Foundation in Texas since January 1999, managing an annual grant budget exceeding $7 million and overseeing over 200 grantees. Ellen co-founded Texas Rural Funders, where a focus on broadband access addresses systemic issues in rural communities, and has played an instrumental role in the formation of Digital Texas, a coalition advocating for equitable digital connectivity. Additionally, Ellen co-founded MINDPOP, which enhances creative teaching in public schools through partnerships with local arts organizations. Previous leadership roles include Executive Chair of the Board of Trustees at St. Stephen's Episcopal School and Executive Director positions at Fotofest Inc. and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Ellen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from Princeton University.

Working with schools and communities across the United States, we develop creative learning systems worthy of all students’ talents and potential. We do this by equitably expanding students’ access to the transformative power of the arts and creative learning in classrooms, schools and communities. Our non-profit consultancy uses our nationally recognized collective impact model to design and implement large-scale, Creative Learning systems that include: — access to quality arts education at all grade levels, — the benefits of Creative Teaching, rigorous instructional strategies drawn from the arts that drive engagement and achievement across the curriculum, — arts-rich educational experiences through community partnerships, research to promote data-driven decisions, and — campus and community plans to guide our work. MINDPOP’s proven approach combines a strong theoretical base and decades of practical experience to help school district and civic leaders strengthen their communities and increase student achievement through the arts and creative learning.
