Matt Cox has over 10 years of experience as a Director and Engineer in the technology industry. Matt started their career in 1992 as a C-130 Comm/Nav Avionics Specialist at the 182nd AW Peoria Air National Guard, where they maintained and repaired radio, radar, and computer systems. In 1999, they worked as a Regional DSL Manager at Internet Illinois. From 2000 to 2006, they served as the Director of Technology at AMI Communications, Inc., where they guided the company in expanding its services beyond voice. Matt was responsible for specifying, purchasing, and installing ISP equipment and providing customer-facing services.
From 2006 to 2010, Matt worked as an IP Telephony Engineer at Sentinel Technologies, Inc. Matt was the lead engineer for designing, implementing, documenting, and supporting complex VOIP solutions using Cisco Telephony products. Matt also worked on deployments involving multiple locations and hundreds of phones.
Since 2010, Matt has been at Mindsight, where they have held various positions. Matt started as a Sr. IP Telephony Engineer, providing design and implementation services for SMB clients using Cisco telephony products. Matt then moved on to become a Service Delivery Team Lead, where they supervised and guided the service delivery engineering team and technical account managers. This role also involved customer onboarding and maintaining the functionality of tools used to deliver services. Matt was later promoted to the Director of Client Services, where they managed the service delivery team and ensured excellence in customer service and compliance. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Internal Systems and Security, where they collaboratively work with the executive leadership team to align business and IT strategies and ensure the reliable, secure, and effective delivery of technology systems throughout the company.
Matt Cox obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications, including Connectwise Service Manager from ConnectWise in March 2017, CompTIA Security+ SY0-501 from CompTIA in July 2018, CH-ECSEV2 from Cisco in May 2015, CCNA from Cisco in May 2011, and CCNA-Voice from Cisco in May 2014.
