Mark T. Brown is the non-executive chairman of Mineral & Financial, and they have also held positions at Adamera Minerals Corp, Avrupa Minerals Ltd., and Copper Fox Metals Inc. Mark is most notable for their time as the founder, chairman, director, and CFO of Rare Element Resources Ltd. from January 1999 to January 2012.
Brown started Rare Element in 1999 with a focus on rare earth elements, which were not well understood at the time. Financing the company was difficult in the early years, but things began to turn around in 2005 when they signed a JV with Newmont.
The price of rare earth elements began to increase around 2007, and Rare Element was one of the few companies with a deposit of rare earth elements in the US. As they advanced the project with drilling, they found more and more rare earth elements at the project and the deposit grew.
Rare Element was a 12 year "over-night" success for Pacific Opportunity and Brown backed it with 100% of their efforts.
Mark T. Brown has a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of British Columbia and attended Vancouver College for high school in 1986.
