Robert Symes

Robert Symes is a seasoned mining professional with extensive experience in various roles within the mining industry. Currently serving as the Mining Superintendent at Mineral Resources Limited since March 2023, Robert is involved in the development of the Onslow Iron Project. Previously, Robert held several positions at CITIC Pacific Mining from September 2015 to April 2023, including Production Superintendent, where responsibilities included ensuring safe and efficient mining operations and leading the Mine Production Team. Additional roles at CITIC included Projects Engineer, Supervisor - Production Coordinator, and Mining Engineer, showcasing a strong background in mine planning, project management, and production reporting. Before CITIC, Robert gained valuable experience as a Mine Surveyor at Roy Hill and several other mining companies, specializing in survey duties and machine control guidance. Robert holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying from the University of Otago.
