Joy Portella is the President and Founding Partner of Minerva Strategies, LLC, a position held since November 2012, where the focus is on inspiring positive change through effective communications for high-impact nonprofits, foundations, and mission-aligned businesses. Prior to this, Joy served as the Director of Communications at Mercy Corps from April 2007 to June 2012 and held positions including Vice President at SS+K, Director of Communications at NetAid, Managing Director at Ruder Finn, and Client Executive at Burson-Marsteller. Joy holds a Master's degree in International Relations and Affairs from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Yale University.
