Glenn McGuinness

Glenn McGuinness has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Glenn started their career as a Research Co-op at E-One Moli Energy, where they designed and executed experiments and analyzed data for a technical report. Glenn then worked as a Data Science Intern at EnerNOC, where they developed customer energy usage analytics and applied machine learning algorithms.

In 2016, Glenn joined A&K Robotics as a Robotics Engineer, contributing to the design and development of electrical hardware and firmware for an autonomous navigation system. Glenn gained experience in C++ firmware programming, electrical design, and agile hardware development.

Since 2017, Glenn has been working at MineSense Technologies Ltd. Initially, they served as a Software Developer, where they developed a custom embedded Linux distribution and wrote robust software in C++. Glenn later transitioned to the role of Data Science Research Intern, working on research projects and writing analytics algorithms. As a Data Scientist, Glenn contributed to the company's intelligence by providing data-driven insights and implementing analytics. Recently, they have taken on the responsibility of leading the Data Science Team at MineSense Technologies Ltd.

Throughout their career, Glenn has demonstrated skills in programming (C++, R), data analysis, experimental design, technical communication, and machine learning.

Glenn McGuinness attended The University of British Columbia from 2011 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree with Distinction. Their field of study was Engineering Physics with an Electrical Engineering Option. Following this, they pursued further education at The University of British Columbia from 2018 to 2020, completing a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Statistics.
