Mario Castillo

Mario Castillo is an experienced professional specializing in economic development and productivity transformation, currently serving as Senior Advisor in Economic Development and Productive Transformation at the Ministerio de Economía, Fomento y Turismo since September 2023. Previously, Mario held various positions at ECLAC from 2010 to 2022, including Officer in Charge of the Division of Productive Development and Business, Director of the Division of International Trade and Integration, and Head of the Unit for Innovation and New Technologies. Mario also contributed as a Consultant in urban mobility and electromobility for GIZ ConoSur in early 2023 and had a brief tenure as a Visiting Researcher at El Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals. With a Master's degree in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Civil Industrial Engineering degree from Universidad de Chile, Mario's expertise spans regional policy analysis, gender issues in development, and innovative technology.
