Carlos Cuerpo

Carlos Cuerpo currently serves as Ministro de Economía, Comercio y Empresa at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business since December 2023. Previously, Carlos held multiple key positions within the Spanish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, including Secretary General of the Treasury and International Financing, as well as Director General for macroeconomic analysis from February 2020 to January 2024. Carlos also led the Economic Analysis Division at the Autoridad Independiente de Responsabilidad Fiscal from September 2014 to February 2020. Earlier in the career, Carlos worked as an Economic Analyst for the European Commission and the Spanish Ministry of Finances, Treasury & Financial Policy. Carlos holds a PhD in Economics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and has degrees from the London School of Economics and Universidad de Extremadura.
