Sarah Melton

Sarah Melton (nee Nikolajenko) is an experienced compliance and risk management professional currently serving as the Manager of Risk, Assurance and Resilience at the Ministry for the Environment since October 2025. Prior to this, Sarah held leadership roles at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, where the Compliance function was established and team capability was enhanced between January 2023 and October 2025. Previously, Sarah was the Senior Manager of Risk and Regulatory at Booster NZ, overseeing enterprise-wide risk management and compliance as well as serving as Privacy Officer. A strong background in compliance was developed at Booster Financial Services Limited, where Sarah led the compliance function and regulatory engagement across New Zealand and Australian operations. Early career roles included positions at Guardian Trust and AXA New Zealand, where skills in product management and compliance were honed. Educational achievements include a Bachelor Degree in Business, Management and Law and participation in ongoing leadership development programs.
