Gayane Atoyan

Gayane Atoyan is the current Head of Finance & Accounting Department at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. Prior to this, they served as a National Expert on Transboundary Environmental Impact Assessment for the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe from March 2020 to December 2020. From February 2019 to September 2019, they were an Environmental and Social Responsibility Officer for ContourGlobal. From June 2021 to September 2022, they were the Head of Research Department for the Center for Agricultural Research and Certification, Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. From May 2017 to June 2021, they were the Founder/ Director of SONDECO LLC, a consultancy firm specializing in environmental management system ISO 14001, environmental risk assessment in financial and agrarian sector, environmental and social impact assessment in project development /EIA/ESIA/SEA. From September 2016 to February 2019, they were the Head of Tracing Service for Armenian Red Cross Society. Lastly, from June 2016 to October 2018, they served as an Environmental,Social and Gender Expert for International Projekt Consult Gmbh.

Gayane Atoyan has a certificate in Global Environmental Management from the DTU - Technical University of Denmark, a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Law-Envirnmental Impact Assessment Law Comparative Research from Newcastle University, and a Master's degree in Comparative Legal Studies from the American University of Armenia. Gayane also has a Diploma in International Relations and Affairs from Yerevan State University. Gayane is certified by the International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) in Environmental and Climate Justice and the ECHR, Coursera Course Certificates in Global Environmental Management, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Newcastle University in PGR Certificate, and the Staff Development Unit at Newcastle University in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Finally, they are certified by Human Rights Education Associates (HREA) in Project Management in NGO Sector.

Gayane Atoyan works with Karen Poghosyan - Trade Representative of The Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Turkmenistan, Ani Ispiryan - Deputy Minister, and Milena Sargsyan - Assistant to the Minister. Their manager is Vahan Kerobyan, Minister of Economy of The Republic of Armenia.
