Aaron Werikhe

Aaron Werikhe currently serves as a Senior Climate Finance Officer at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, where responsibilities include establishing a Climate Finance Unit to facilitate the mobilization and tracking of climate finance. Previously, Aaron worked as a Senior Planner for Environment and Natural Resources at the National Planning Authority, focusing on integrating climate change and sustainability into national development plans. Aaron’s experience also includes a role as a Green Growth Policy Specialist at the Global Green Growth Institute, where duties encompassed promoting green growth concepts and informing strategic planning in Uganda. Aaron holds several degrees, including a Certified Inclusive Green Economy Fellow from the University of Gothenburg, an MSc. in Sustainability and Environmental Management from the University of Derby, and a Master of Economic Policy and Planning alongside a Bachelor of Economics, both from Makerere University.
