Bregje Galema

Bregje Galema currently serves as a Senior Policy Officer for EU External Affairs focusing on the Middle East at the Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken since August 2022. Prior experience includes eight years as an Analyst in security affairs at the Ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties and a role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the University of Amsterdam, where research projects focused on Islamist perspectives and atheism in the Arab world. Bregje Galema holds a Master of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies with a focus on Arabic from the University of Amsterdam and a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies from Leiden University, complemented by foundational studies in Oriental Languages and Communication and secondary education.
