Ron Meerhof

Ron Meerhof is an experienced senior communicatie adviseur and speechwriter currently serving at the Ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid since March 2018, as well as at the Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken since September 2013. Prior to these roles, Ron was a politiek redacteur at de Volkskrant from 2001 to 2013, where responsibilities included general political reporting and analysis, particularly focusing on the CDA and significant issues like the drying up of the Hedwigepolder. Additionally, Ron held various editorial positions at de Volkskrant, including as a correspondenten in Rotterdam and as a buitenlandredacteur. Earlier experience includes a role at ANP, contributing to reporting on urban issues, and freelance work as a translator and course instructor in Japanese and English. Ron holds degrees from Leiden University in Japanology and a post-doctorate in journalism, among other educational qualifications.
