Jacob Strange-Thomsen has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Jacob started their career as an Interviewer at Synovate in 2001. In 2003, they worked as a Teacher at Roskilde Municipality and also as an Exhibition Consultant at Økologisk Landsforening. In 2008, they interned as a Commercial Assistant at the Royal Danish Consulate General in Guangzhou, China. In 2009, they served as a UN-assistant at the climate conference held in Copenhagen. Jacob then joined Vordingborg Municipality as a Controller/Economic Consultant from 2011 to 2013. From 2013 to 2018, they worked at Oxfam IBIS in various roles, including Controller and Senior Financial Controller. Currently, they are employed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, where they held the position of Financial Management Specialist from 2018 to 2020, and is currently serving as the Head of Finance and Administration at the DGF in Kampala, Uganda.

Jacob Strange-Thomsen completed their education at Roskilde University from 2005 to 2010, earning a Masters of Social Science degree in Public Administration & International Development Studies. In 2009, they also completed courses at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen in Politics. Additionally, they took courses at Thammasat University in International Relations in 2006.
