Anthony Wainaina

Anthony Wainaina serves as the Deputy Director of Public Health at the Ministry of Health since June 2018, where responsibilities include environmental health expertise, infodemic management, and advising on climate change and healthcare waste management. Concurrently, since September 2014, Anthony leads the Centre for Public Health Diagnosis, focusing on identifying and addressing public health issues. Previous experience includes serving as Chief Public Health Officer at Kenyatta National Hospital from September 1998 to May 2018, overseeing compliance, patient safety, and infection control initiatives. Anthony's educational background includes multiple certifications in behavioral communication strategies, infodemic management, and international health, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and a Master's degree in Epidemiology.
