Reed Masakayan has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. They began their professional career in 2009 as a Public Relations Assistant at the University of Tampa, where they gave campus tours and provided information about the admission process and student life. In 2012, they worked as an Exam Proctor at ELS Language Center in Tampa and as a Processing Support at LifeLink Foundation.
In 2014, Reed Masakayan joined the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Research Intern, where they later became a Senior Research Technician. During their time there, they validated multiple scFv candidates for CAR-T technology targeting BCMA against Multiple Myeloma. They also contributed to the development of tricistronic CARs and proof-of-concept bicistronic CARs to prevent antigen escape. They left in 2016.
From 2016 to 2018, Reed Masakayan worked at Agenus as an Associate Researcher and later as a Senior Research Associate.
Currently, Reed is employed at MiNK Therapeutics, initially serving as a Senior Research Associate and now as an Associate Scientist. They are also a Scientist I, demonstrating their professional growth within the company.
Reed Masakayan pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Tampa, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. After completing their undergraduate education, they furthered their studies and obtained a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology from NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, where they attended from 2013 to 2014. Currently, Reed is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical Sciences, with a focus on General Biomedical Sciences, at Northeastern University. This program is expected to be completed in the year 2025.
