Arlene Birt

Arlene Birt is a Full Professor at Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a background in information design and visual storytelling. Arlene is also the Founder and Creative Director of Background Stories, where Arlene communicates complex social and environmental topics through visuals. Arlene is a Public Speaker on topics related to visual storytelling and sustainability. Additionally, Arlene served as a Graphics Officer at IPCC, collaborating with climate scientists and governments on the AR6 Synthesis Report. With experience at Haberman and as a freelance designer, Arlene brings a wealth of expertise in visual communication and design to their various roles.
