Amy Laboe

Amy Laboe currently serves as the Lead ELL Teacher and Varsity Softball Coach at Minneapolis Public Schools, having commenced this role in December 2022. Previously, Amy was a Research Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture at the University of Virginia from January 2022 to May 2023 and a Doctoral Candidate and Adjunct Professor at the University of Virginia from August 2017 to June 2022. Additional experience includes teaching positions at DePaul University, Washburn High School, Partnership Academy, and Richfield Public Schools, along with a role as a Teacher-Researcher through the Fulbright Distinguished Teacher Award. Amy holds a Ph.D. in Education/Social Science Research from the University of Virginia, a Master's degree in English as a Second Language from Hamline University, and a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Notre Dame.
