Amy Stearns

Board Member at Minnesota Citizens for the Arts

At-large Greater Minnesota member Amy Stoller Stearns is the executive director of the Historic Holmes Theatre in Detroit Lakes, a beautiful 800 seat art deco performing arts center. Under her leadership, the Holmes has grown since opening in 2002 and features dozens of local, regional, national, and international artists on its stage annually as well as at outdoor venues in the DL area. The Holmes also offers visual arts classes for all ages, children’s theatre opportunities, and so much more. A graduate of Augustana College and the University of St. Thomas MBA program, Stearns has had the opportunity to work throughout the United States and abroad for both nonprofit and Fortune 500 companies, but she and her husband Mike chose Detroit Lakes as a place to put down roots and raise their children. She is an advocate for the arts and other nonprofit organizations in Detroit Lakes and throughout the state and is actively involved in many boards, civic organizations, and other community and school activities. Stearns believes so strongly that the arts are vital to the sustainability of rural areas and the quality of life in the state.
