Tamara Nadel

Tamara Nadel is a founding member of Ragamala Dance Company, where she serves a dual role as Company Dancer/Soloist and Development & Outreach Director. Tamara has toured extensively with Ragamala, highlighted by Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, American Dance Festival, Walker Art Center, Open Look Festival (Russia), Just Festival (U.K.), and National Centre for Performing Arts (India). She is the recipient of a McKnight Artist Fellowship for Dancers, Jerome Travel Study Grant, and individual grants from the MN State Arts Board and Metropolitan Regional Arts Council. She has served as a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts, MSAB, MRAC, and McKnight Artist Fellowship program, and on the Minneapolis Arts Commission. Tamara has engaged in intensive study of the classical dance form of Bharatanatyam under Ragamala Artistic Directors Ranee Ramaswamy and Aparna Ramaswamy for more than 20 years. She holds a degree in Religious Studies and Dance from Macalester College.
