Brooke Cunningham

Brooke Cunningham currently serves as the Commissioner and previously held the position of Assistant Commissioner at the Minnesota Department of Health since March 2022. At the University of Minnesota, Brooke Cunningham has been an Assistant Professor since August 2014. Prior experiences include serving as an AcademyHealth Delivery System Science Fellow at Medica Research Institute and completing fellowships in General Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Medicine and in Bioethics and Health Policy at Johns Hopkins University. Early training included an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Health System. Educational qualifications encompass an MD and PhD in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania, alongside a BA in History and African-American Studies from the University of Virginia.
