Brian Sorenson is an accomplished civil engineer with extensive experience in traffic engineering and transportation system planning. Currently serving as the State Traffic Engineer for the Minnesota Department of Transportation since January 2019, Brian previously held the position of Assistant County Engineer at Dakota County from April 2006 to January 2019, where responsibilities included leading the $200M 5-Year Capital Improvement Program. Prior experience includes the role of Transportation Engineer at Scott County, MN, from November 1994 to April 2006. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from South Dakota State University and studies at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
