Kara Nelson, OTR/L, is a senior occupational therapist with extensive experience in various healthcare settings across Minnesota. Currently serving as a mobile occupational therapist with the State of Minnesota since November 2021, Kara provides OTR coverage and supervises COTA support across multiple state facility sites. Previous roles have included establishing occupational therapy services in group settings for the Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise and improving daily functioning at the Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center. Additionally, Kara has provided services at Regions Hospital for adult mental health, evaluated patients in skilled nursing facilities at Remedy Therapy Services, and worked with individuals with autism at Lifeworks Services, Inc. Kara holds a Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy from St. Catherine University and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Sciences of Psychology.
