Joe Howe has a diverse work experience primarily in the military and related fields. Joe is currently serving as the Chief Operations Officer for the Minnesota National Guard, a role they have held since June 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Recruiting and Retention Battalion Team South Production Commander from August 2021 to June 2023.

Joe's military career began in 2003 with the Minnesota Army National Guard, where they served as an Infantryman. Joe later took on leadership roles such as Company Commander/Battalion Training Officer and Brigade Project Officer.

In 2017, Joe joined the 2-135 Infantry Battalion as the Battalion Executive Officer/Full-Time Staff Officer in Charge, a position they held until August 2021. Joe also served as the Battalion Assistant Operations Officer/Battalion Full-Time Staff Officer in Charge from April 2017 to September 2018.

In addition to their military experience, Joe has worked in the private sector. Joe was a Recruiter at Aerotek from December 2013 to February 2014 and a Branch Manager/Management Trainee at MPW Industrial Services from October 2012 to October 2013.

Earlier in their career, Joe held roles at Camp Ripley and the Minnesota Army National Guard, where they served as a Project Officer/Assistant Operations Officer and an Infantry Platoon Leader, respectively.

Throughout their career, Joe has demonstrated leadership skills, operational planning abilities, and a strong commitment to training and certification programs.

Joe Howe attended Ridgewater College from 2003 to 2004, where they studied General Studies. Joe then went on to St. Cloud State University from 2004 to 2008 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology.
