Michael Raich has a diverse work experience spanning over several educational institutions. Michael started their career as a Mathematics Teacher and Varsity Basketball and Golf Coach at Menahga Public Schools and Menahga High School, respectively, from 1989 to 1994. Michael then moved on to Hibbing High School, where they served as Principal, Athletic/Activities Director, Mathematics Teacher, and Girls' Varsity Basketball Coach from 1994 to 2006.
In 2006, Raich joined Hibbing Community College as the Dean of Academic Affairs and Student Services, a role they held until 2014. Michael also served as Interim Provost at Itasca Community College from 2014 to 2015 before returning to Hibbing Community College as the Provost. Michael held the Provost position until 2019 when they became President of Minnesota North College.
Michael Raich holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from the University of North Dakota, which they earned between 2008 and 2013. Michael also obtained a Master of Science in Educational Administration and a Sixth Year Licensure in Public School Superintendent and Secondary Principal from St. Cloud State University between 1996 and 1998. In 1989, they completed a Bachelor of Science in Teaching Mathematics at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
