Shannon Cunningham has a diverse work experience in the non-profit and political sectors. Shannon started their career at Greater Twin Cities United Way, where they worked as a Donor Services Associate and later as a Leadership Giving and Grants Development Assistant. In 2006, they joined the Minnesota Senate as a Committee Administrator in the Health and Human Services department. After their time in the Senate, Shannon transitioned to AFSCME Council 5, where they served as a Political Representative. Their most recent role was with the Minnesota Nurses Association, where they worked as a Government Relations and Public Policy Specialist before being promoted to Director of Governmental & Community Relations. Shannon has demonstrated expertise in government relations and public policy, as well as a strong commitment to community and donor services.
Shannon Cunningham earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Political Science from Bemidji State University, where they attended from 1999 to 2003. Later, they pursued a Masters degree in Advocacy and Political Leadership from the University of Minnesota Duluth, which they completed between 2006 and 2008.
