Chris Bur

Draper at Minnesota Opera

Chris Bur is a Draper at Minnesota Opera. Chris was previously an artist at Opera Philadelphia, where they performed the roles of Detective Kearley/Second Prison Warder and Oscar. Chris also worked with Opera Colorado as a Young Artist, performing in productions of Carmen and Rigoletto. In 2013, they were an Apprentice Singer with The Santa Fe Opera, where they performed in the world premiere of Oscar. Chris has also worked as an Administrative Assistant at University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, a Section Leader at First United Methodist Church of Ypsilanti, and a Professional Chorister at Christ Church Grosse Pointe. In 2011, they were a Resident Opera Artist at Pine Mountain Music Festival.

Chris Bur studied vocal performance at the University of Michigan, where they received their Master of Music and Bachelor of Arts degrees. Chris also did post-graduate studies in vocal performance at the university.
