Jerry K. Smith

Stage Management at Minnesota Opera

Jerry K. Smith is currently the stage manager at Minnesota Opera. Jerry has previously worked as a stage manager at Minnesota Opera and Seagle Music Colony, Inc. Jerry has also worked as an assistant stage manager at Michigan Opera Theatre.

Jerry began their career in stage management in 2018 with Michigan Opera Theatre. Jerry then moved to Minnesota Opera, where they have worked for the past two years. During their time at Minnesota Opera, they have worked on productions of Rondine, Silent Night, The Italian Straw Hat, The Fix, La Traviata, and Edward Tulane. Jerry was also the stage manager for the world premiere of Edward Tulane.

In May 2018, Jerry became the production stage manager at Seagle Music Colony, Inc. Jerry oversaw a stage management staff of one for four main stage productions and several other concerts and events. Some of the productions they worked on during their time at Seagle Music Colony include Candide, Julius Caesar, The Great Gatsby, Mame, and The Ghosts of Gatsby.

Jerry is a highly experienced stage manager who has worked on a variety of productions. Jerry is skilled in managing large teams and overseeing multiple productions simultaneously. Jerry is a dedicated and hardworking professional who always puts the needs of the production first.

Jerry K. Smith has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rutgers University - Mason Gross School of the Arts and is certified in OSHA 10 - General Industry, Mental Health First Aid USA, Adult First Aid/CPR/AED, Waterfront Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid.
