Megan Burks

Megan Burks is an accomplished journalist and producer with extensive experience in public media. Currently serving as Deputy Managing Producer at MPR News since February 2019, Megan has been recognized with the 2022 First Place Midwest Broadcast Journalist Association Sevareid Award for outstanding work in radio documentaries. Prior to MPR News, Megan held various positions at KPBS, including Education Reporter and Speak City Heights Reporter, where reporting focused on education, community health, and social justice issues. Earlier career roles include correspondent at The California Health Report and clinical study coordinator at UCSD Medical Center. Megan holds a B.A. in Journalism and Sociology from San Diego State University, complemented by a study experience at the University of Amsterdam.
