Jill Schurtz currently serves as the Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer at the Minnesota State Board of Investment since October 2022. With extensive experience in investment and finance, Jill has held leadership roles such as Member of the Board of Directors and Investment Committee Chair at M.A. Mortenson Company since 2015, and previously served on the Board of Directors at Alerus from 2021 until September 2022. Additional notable positions include CEO and Chief Investment Officer at the St. Paul Teachers' Retirement Fund Association from 2014 to September 2022, and CEO at Robeco-Sage Investment Management from 2008 to 2012. Jill's background includes a legal career as an Attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates from 2003 to 2006, and as VP of Investment Banking at US Bancorp Piper Jaffray from 2000 to 2002. Jill is a veteran, having served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Army from 1986 to 1993, and holds a BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
