Scott Thom is currently the Athletic Performance Coach at the Minnesota Timberwolves, a position they have held since January of 2022. Prior to that, they were the Head Coach MBB and Director of Strength and Conditioning at College of Marin from July 2016 to January of 2022. During their time at College of Marin, Thom was responsible for building a program which developed players into better human beings, both on and off the court. Scott also oversaw the academics of their players, making sure they were on track to graduate and move on to four-year colleges. In addition, Thom created and implemented a yearly training program to develop basketball players physically and mentally, resulting in an injury-free program during their tenure.
Scott Thom has a Master's degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine, a Teaching Credential in Single Subject PE from Sonoma State University, and a Physical Education degree in Movement Studies from California State University, Chico.
They work with Micah Nori - Basketball Operations Assistant Coach, Joseph Boylan - Basketball Operations Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development, and Kevin Hanson - Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development. Scott Thom reports to Chris Finch, Head Coach.
