Samer Kamal

Samer Kamal has extensive experience in the field of sustainability and environmental development. Samer is currently the Chief Strategy Officer at mīnus, a global waste tech company focused on reducing the impact of food waste through technology. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Sustainability Officer at Averda, where they emphasized the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to combat the climate crisis.

In 2001, Samer became the Managing Director of Tactical Connections Ltd., an environmental development company operating in developing markets. Samer was responsible for guiding the organization's strategic direction and operational effectiveness.

Samer also served as a Board Member of Legacy Sports & Events from 2014 to 2022. Additionally, they were the Managing Director of Tactical Marketing Management, a sustainability firm in EMEA, from 2006 to 2022. In this role, they assisted organizations in implementing sustainability initiatives and elevating ethical business standards.

As a Partner at Alliances for Global Sustainability from 2017 to 2021, Samer collaborated with other professionals to promote global sustainability efforts. Samer also held the position of Managing Director at Green Infra Facilities Management from 2013 to 2017, where they focused on creating successful water programs in GCC communities.

Earlier in their career, Samer was the Founder and Member of the Board of Directors at Bee'ah, The Sharjah Environment Co., and worked as a Marketing Manager at thinksmith.

Throughout their career, Samer Kamal has consistently demonstrated a commitment to addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable practices.

Samer Kamal attended the University of Toronto from 1990 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology & Toxicology.
