We help seniors and disabled adults age with independence & dignity in the setting of their choice - most often their own homes and communities. We also support their caregivers, local & long distance, who want to do the right thing for their loved ones and need help and advice as they balance competing demands. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, with a full and part time staff of over 135 and 700+ volunteers, we offer over 20 programs that support seniors, the adult disabled and the family members who care for them, including : Information & Resources - Free information about services & programs and referrals to appropriate resources. Community Care Management - Expertise, advice, linkages to services that enable older or disabled persons to age with dignity and provide peace of mind. Caregiver Support - Support & services to help caregivers maintain their commitment to caring for a loved one. Elder Protective Services - Allegations of abuse, financial exploitation, neglect or self neglect are investigated. Healthy Living - Classes for individuals who want to learn how to better manage their own health. Home Care - Services for people who need assistance to live independently at home. Legal Services - Free civil legal services through the Senior Citizen's Law Project (SCLP) for eligible residents. Money Management - Trained/supervised volunteers are matched with people who need help writing checks, balancing their checkbooks, budgeting monthly income, and running bank errands. Nursing Home Ombudsman - Advocacy for residents of nursing and rest homes. Senior Nutrition - The Meals on Wheels (MOW) and community dining centers and socialize over a nutritious meal. Health Benefits Counseling - Free health insurance information, counseling and assistance to Massachusetts residents with Medicare. Minuteman By Your Side - Our new fee-based Care Management Program.
