Karen Maher

Karen Maher has a diverse work experience in talent management and organizational development. Karen currently holds the position of Director, Talent & OD at Mirvac since July 2023, where they oversee talent and organizational development initiatives. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Manager, Talent & Organisational Development at Mirvac from July 2021 to June 2023.

Before joining Mirvac, Karen worked at The GPT Group from January 2017 to July 2021, where they served as the Head of Talent and was responsible for the learning and development, talent management, and overall employee engagement strategies. From April 2013 to December 2016, they held the role of Organizational Development Manager at The GPT Group, where they developed and implemented L&D and talent management strategies.

Additionally, Karen has experience working at Allens and Pearson. At Allens, they were the Talent & Capability Manager from July 2012 to April 2013, responsible for talent management, leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives. At Pearson, they held two roles. From February 2009 to July 2012, they served as the Global Talent & Mobility Manager, overseeing the global talent strategy, succession planning, and management development initiatives. From November 2007 to February 2009, they worked as a Talent Advisor, providing support for the annual talent process and managing the Talent Management System.

Karen also has experience in the public sector, specifically at NSW Police, where they held the position of General Manager, Injury Management from December 2005 to May 2007. In this role, they provided leadership in developing and implementing injury management policies and systems. Prior to that, they worked as an Injury Management Advisor at NSW Police from April 2004 to December 2005, responsible for managing work-related injuries and coordinating rehabilitation programs.

Karen Maher earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Sydney, where they studied from 2000 to 2003. In addition to their degree, they have obtained various certifications, including the viaEdge Learning Agility Assessment from Korn Ferry and certifications from Peter Berry Consultancy, Human Synergistics Australia, and APMG-International.
